February Focus: Heart Health & Being Prepared
February is American Heart Month, a time to raise awareness about heart health and the importance of planning ahead.
For individuals and families across North Carolina, heart health isn’t just a medical topic, it’s part of overall financial and personal preparedness.
At All Insurance For You, we believe understanding both your health and your coverage helps you make more confident decisions year-round.

Why Heart Health Matters
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States.
While that statistic can feel overwhelming, many risk factors are manageable with proactive care and routine screenings.
American Heart Month serves as a reminder to:
- Schedule annual wellness visits
- Monitor blood pressure and cholesterol
- Understand personal risk factors
- Use available preventive health benefits
Small steps taken early often prevent larger concerns later.
Know Your Risk
& Your Numbers
Common heart health risk factors include:
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
- Diabetes
- Smoking
- Physical inactivity
- Family history
Knowing your blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels can help you stay proactive and informed when discussing care with your provider.
Understanding
Preventative Benefits
Many health plans cover certain preventive services such as annual wellness visits and cardiovascular screenings when eligibility guidelines are met.
Coverage details, frequency limits, and cost-sharing vary by plan.
Reviewing your Summary of Benefits can help you understand what is included.
Affordable Care Act Open Enrollment (Nov. 1- Jan 15th)
Your plan may be set up to auto-renew. That doesn’t mean you will have the exact same benefits or premium. Your plan is based on your household income- so it’s important that we update your application to verify that you receive the correct amount of subsidy. It’s also important to see what plan options are available in case there is a plan with lower pricing or better benefits. Your needs change and we want to make sure your plan meets your needs.
